…Msgr Eke enjoins fathers to be good ambassadors of Christ
It was a day of joy and thanksgiving, Sunday May 6, 2018 at St. Helen’s Cath. Church Irete, Owerri West L.G.A, as members of the Catholic Men Organization (CMO) of the parish joyfully joined their counterparts across the country in marking this year’s feast of their patron, Saint Joseph.
The event which began with a two day retreat, ended with high Mass celebrated by the parish priest, Monsignor Anthony Eke.
In his homily, Monsignor Eke enjoined Christian fathers to be good ambassadors of the church. While emphasizing on the need and importance of Christian fathers obeying God and offering selfless service to Him and the church, he commended them for their role and commitment in church activities.
He urged them to inculcate good qualities in their families and to be committed to the things of God as they are partner in God’s work.
He also enjoined fathers to love their wives and children as Christ loves the church. “I urge you to be faithful men in your families. Many of you are trying your best, denying yourselves a lot, by attending to church activities; don’t worry God is seeing you. Don’t be only Sunday church member, socialize with others. He observed that some don’t belong to any group or society why?
