Maria Assumpta Cathedral Nursery & Primary School, Owerri had her 7th annual graduation ceremony on July 19, 2018.
The ceremony began with Holy Mass celebrated by the Cathedral Administrator, Rev. Fr. Nicholas Ijermaru.
In his homily, Fr. Ijermaru wished the Elementary Six grandaunds goodluck as they go out to compete with the products of other schools in various colleges. He advised them to always keep the flag flying and never quench the light given to them by the school and the church.
To the other pupils, he instructed them to be good children at home while on holiday and to always pray for their parents for divine protection.
The Mass was followed by a reception at the Odenigbo ground where guests were beautifully entertained with various activities by the pupils, displayed according to their classes.
Fourteen people received various awards during the ceremony on that faithful day. The school graduated a total number of 117 pupils made up of 37 Pre-Nursery, 61 Nursery Three and 19 Primary Six’.
In an address at the occasion, the school reminded parents and guardians that it is their duty to make the little ones a better generation by buying necessary text books, writing materials and other things they need to study well. They must also ensure that their children are neatly dressed in the correct uniform, be punctual and regular to school and also pay school fees on time.
The school expressed gratitude to the headmistresses, teachers and staff , the Cathedral Administrator, and the proprietor, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Anthony J.V Obinna for their dedication, support and encouragement.
“Above all, we thank the almighty God for his infinite mercy and a clement weather which made the day so successful.”
