Djs hold thanksgiving Mass


The Professional Disc Jockey Association of Nigeria, Imo State chapter on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Holy Cross Catholic Parish Aladinma attended a thanksgiving to appreciate God’s numerous blessings upon them.,

Preaching the sermon at the occasion, the Parish Administrator, Rev. Fr. Dr. Mark Njoku, anchored on the covenant between God and Abraham, which he said was so dear to Abraham.

Fr. Njoku noted that God’s covenant with Christians starts on the day of baptism. He said that it is easier for Christians to get out of slavery than to get out of the slave mentality.

The homilist stressed that Christ has offered us this freedom from sin through His suffering and death on the cross and called on all to accept this freedom in order to flee from the bondage and wages of sin.

Speaking with The Leader reporter, the President of the Professional Disc Jockey Association, Dr. Isaac Okoro said the thanksgiving was to mark the beginning of a new year, while praying for God’s continued blessings and protection on all their members.

Throwing more light on the Association, the Secretary, Mr. Henry Nnaji, also known as “DJ Dunk” noted that the group was formed in the year 2009 as a result of the demise of their member, “DJ White”.

Mr. Nnaji disclosed that the aims and objectives of the Association are to unite all DJs, host symposiums, sensitize them on their dressing, how to handle occasions and the type of songs to be played in every occasion.

The Secretary mentioned that so far the association can boost of about 75 members, noting that last year, it got officially registered and obtained their certificate from the Corporate Affairs Commission.

He stated that last year was a great stepping stone for the group and prayed to God to help them achieve more of their life dreams.

A visit to the Holy Family Home of destitutes, Uratta was used to mark the thanksgiving, where gift items were showered on the inmates by the association.
