In the current season, “Arsenal” is one of the main favorites of the Europa League. The team shows an attacking game that has let it enter the play-off round confidently. Then, everything will depend on the drawing results.

It should be noted that the Gunners played against quite modest rivals at the group stage and the results of these matches could hardly show the real power of the team. “Arsenal” played against:

  • “Vorskla”;
  • “Qarabag”;
  • “Sporting”.

As a result, they left the group ahead of schedule. In the section of all today livescore, you can always find the list of relevant results that will help you be aware of all the changes in the football world.

Actually, there is no doubt that “Arsenal” is always a favorite, no matter what team it plays against.

However, the further, the more power the team will need to pretend for entering the next stage of the competition.

The Team’s Prospects for Entering the International Arena

It is known that the coach of the Gunners Unai Emery is an excellent specialist in the Europa League. The Spanish coach won this tournament with Sevilla three times. However, he said this time that the English Premier League is more important for his team now. That is why the coach often used the half-reserve crew at group matches.

Besides, football players getting to the field always had a motivation and “Arsenal” achieves great results exactly due to its mood. The determining factor of the team’s playing in the Europa League will be the EPL results. If Emery’s team is entering the Champions League or have an opportunity to be close to the top 4, the Champions League will be sacrificed.

On the other hand, everything may change at all. The matter is that the competition in the Premier League is incredible now. So, there is a probability that “Arsenal” won’t enter the top 4 and the Gunners will focus on the Europa League in this case.

The club experienced this in the last season. At that time, everything ended with the failure of the future winner of the championship, “Atletico”, in the semifinal. We’ll see whether the Gunners will make the same mistakes or not and whether they’ll impress their fans with playing on the international arena. Will Emery distribute his resources wisely or miss his potential? It’s easy to find this data on the sports statistics website that pays a special attention to this.

Novak Djokovic confirmed on Thursday he will play at the US Open, ending speculation about his presence at the first Grand Slam tournament since the season restarted following the coronavirus-enforced shutdown.

“I’m happy to confirm that I’ll participate at #CincyTennis and #USOpen this year,” the 33-year-old world number one tweeted.

Sam Okwaraji: NFF begins process to retire Eagles No.6 jersey

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) is pondering a move to retire the Super Eagles No.6 jersey previously worn by the late Sam Okwaraji, The PUNCH reports.

NFF President Amaju Pinnick made this known during an interview on a radio programme Sports Salsa, which was aired on Kennis 104.1 FM on Wednesday.

Okwaraji died of congestive heart failure minutes after he slumped during a 1990 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Angola on August 12, 1989, inside the main-bowl of the National Stadium, Lagos.

The game ended 1-0 in favour of the Eagles.

“Someone made a proposal about retiring the jersey (No.6) at the start of the year and I think it is not too much for us to do that,” Pinnick said.

“I will forward the proposal to the executive committee for implementation because it has been said already. So, we will see how we can retire that shirt in honour of a great patriot (Samuel) Okwaraji.

“His (Okwaraji) death was very tragic because he was a player who showed dexterity, professionalism and maturity each time he played for the Eagles.”
