Rev. Fr. Remigius Ebiziem has charged Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish Akwakuma Owerri to always teach their children by example, not saying a different thing and doing a different one all-together. The occasion was the 2015 Catholic Men Organization (CMO) Day celebration. He described CMO as the “home pillars.” Mean- while, the activities started on 31st of April, with a retreat on a topic “The Role of Christian Fathers on Evangelization” as presented by Rev. Fr. Ebiziem (the curate)
This was followed by a road show jogging and exercise before a football match between St. Joseph and St. Bernard groups of the same parish and the match ended in 1-0.
On the D-Day proper, nine members were honored based on their selfless services to both church and CMO. Among them was Mr. Geoffrey C. Anyanwu (The catechist since 29 years ago.)
On his part, the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Dr. Kevin C. Ugoamadi congratulated the awardees and charged the CMO members to keep on the desire to work out their salvation .
This was followed by the CMO president’s (Bar. Sir Matthew Ijezie KSJ) welcome address where he explained the essence of the awards. According to him the award. was not for money making but to encourage members to work hard as well as motivating them to be role models in their respective families.
The chairman of the occasion, Sir. S.U. Ugariogu who is also the vice president of the CMO called on all the members to emulate St. Joseph on how he brought up Jesus Christ who in turn has become useful to the world. He added that the problems in the world today are as a result of bad upbringing of children by the parents.
Finally, Oha Augustine Onyirika, Mr. Anyanwu Geoffrey (Catechist), Surv. Henry Akujiobi, Chief Nwanebu C.N. Nkemakolam, Mr. Celestine O. Nze, Mr. Sylvester C.A. Nlemadim, Esv. Jude Ibezimako Emezuruike, Chief Evaristus C. Ononogbo and Bro. Eze Lawrence, the awardees were thanked by the planning committee chairman Mr. Dike L.A.E.
