Fr. Ibole celebrates feast of St. Patrick with pupils of St. Michael’s Nur/Pri School Amakohia
Rev. Fr. Patrick Ibole and the pupils of St. Michael’s Nursery/Primary School Amakohia, Uratta, joined millions of Catholics worldwide to celebrate this year’s Feast of St. Patrick, March 17. The celebration started with a thanksgiving Mass presided over by Fr. Ibole. In his sermon, Fr. Ibole who is also the Vicar-General of Owerri Archdiocese, traced the life and time of St. Patrick, how he was kidnapped at the age of 16, sold into slavery in Ireland and after six years of living the life of a shepherding slave, Patrick escaped and returned to Britian. However, he felt God calling him to be a priest; so, he set out to France where he studied for priesthood….
Fire destroys three buildings at Amakohia Secondary School

Bush fire wreaked havoc at Amakohia Secondary School Ikeduru, Imo State where three buildings were burnt down, January 7, 2014. The affected buildings include; the Principal’s House, the Technical Workshop and the Engine Room. The Principal of the School, Mr. Nath Iwunwah told THE LEADER that the bush fire entered the school compound at about 1.30 p.m. on the fateful day and almost engulfed the entire school premises, consuming the afore-mentioned buildings. The fire incident occurred while the school was still on Christmas holidays. The inferno attracted a few concerned persons who put spirited efforts to save the buildings but to no avail. However, they were able to save other buildings from being similarly consumed….
St. Michael’s Amakohia receives twin priests

St. Michael’s Catholic Parish, Amakohia Uratta was on Sunday, August 18, 2013 received her two newly ordained priests, Rev. Frs. Henry Obiomachukwu Nwanguma and Maxwell Chima Nwoha. Preaching a homily at the Mass, Rev. Fr. Jude Obinna Ifeadiro of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Aba, advised Christians to be mindful of what they speak with their mouth as there is power in spoken words. Fr. Ifeadiro stressed on the need for Christians to always stand on the path of truth and to engrave the love and fear of God in their lives in order to live good Christian lives.
