The Imo State Government says it will not renege in its resolve to ensure prompt payment of compensation to Land Owners whose Land was acquired for development purposes. The Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, Chief Uche Nwosu stated this in his office while disbursing cheques of over N32 million to Land Owners of Timber and Allied Market Approach Layout of Egbu and Naze, Owerri North Local Government Area. Iwuanyanwu not responsible for Nekede Ihiagwa road disaster
The Chief Executive of Hardel and Enic Group of Companies, and frontline politician in Imo State, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has denied the allegation making the rounds in the State that he abandoned construction work on Orji-Egbu-Naze-Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze road. Iwuanyanwu, in a statement issued by his construction firm, Hardel & Enic Group of Companies, described those who bandied such allegations against him as detractors who are bent on destroying and tarnishing his integrity. Strike: FG ignores Poly lecturers – As strike enters second month
The Federal Government has ignored the strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria eight weeks ago. Since the strike action, which paralysed academic activities in all the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria, the Federal Government appeared insensitive both to the plight of the lecturers and that of the students. The union which issued a 21-day ultimatum on March 25, is asking the Federal Government to look into many of its demands. The ultimatum expired on April 22 with subsequent declaration of a one-week warning strike and an indefinite strike on April 29.
